left to get a lot more than that (on a delayed schedule, yes, but they'll still come out way ahead).
I suppose I could see an argument that says if BYU were in the PAC, maybe with another similar-tiered school, the remaining PAC 8 would have just opted to stay in the PAC and get the same money they would get by going to the Big12 and ACC, but without the hassle of changing conferences and the additional travel (especially for the ACC-bound schools). I could buy that. But at that point, the conference is severely diminished without USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington, so it's not really the same caliber of conference anymore.
