Polls love the SEC. In almost 4 years only 2 weeks a team not from SEC was #1
Last #1 team not from SEC was 2 weeks of Michigan in 2023 and before that Clemson #1 COVID year 2020 start until early November (go figure). Clemson was also #1 first few weeks of 2019 and final poll for both 2018 and 2016 (in 2019 and 2017) after the SEC was #1 all of 2018 and 2016 until the final poll. Also #1 a couple weeks in 2017.

Michigan was #1 the last 2 polls for 2023 (the last poll actually in 2024)

SEC meaning Georgia the last 2 years and most of 2021 and 2022 years, LSU late 2019, Alabama a couple weeks in 2022 and several weeks in 2021, and most weeks before 2021 not listed earlier as LSU or Clemson.

That is 5 teams being number 1 from November 2015 until Texas took over recently, almost a decade with only 5 teams as #1, Texas only makes it a 6th team since November 2015, because they are now in the SEC.

From November 2015 until Texas recently hit #1 (because they are now in the SEC) there were about 10 weeks total that #1 was outside Clemson, Alabama and Georgia.
