- 2022: @ Florida (#9)
- 2023: Florida (#9) AND @Baylor (#44)
- 2024: Baylor (#44) ...this is the weakest OOC headliner and still better than any we have until 2032
- 2025: @UCLA (#33)
- 2026: Arkansas (#22)
- 2027: vs Miami (#28)
- 2028: @Wisconsin (#17)
- 2029: @Arkansas (#22)
- 2030: UCLA (#33)
- 2031: LSU (#5)
- 2032: @LSU (#5)
- 2033: Wisconsin (#17)
These definitely aren't teams BYU can't schedule - we've actually played games with a lot of these exact same teams in the recent past. But we seem to have consciously decided to focus on lower-end OOC opponents as we move into the Big 12
The one consolation is that it took Utah a while to start scheduling the bigger brand teams as well. They had Michigan in 2014 and 2015, but every PAC12 year until 2022 (excluding the weird 2020 COVID year) their top-brand OOC opponent was BYU.
So I'm sure we'll eventually get there as well...but I would love to see us continue playing OOC some of the great teams we previously have matched up against. If nothing else, it will help grow our brand and awareness
