Been there with my son.
It's his sophomore year and he is just coming out of it. He wasn't too bad in middle school but it got really bad his freshman year.
It will get better. It was really hard for my wife and I as well. Try and focus on the good things he does.

I was hesitant about meds for my kid. Therapy alone was helpful, but meds plus therapy has been far more helpful. IDK
