The difference in previous years is that by game 4 and 5 the team is beat up pretty good with impactful injuries to key positions (LBs, DL, QB, etc.) and without depth to sustain.

This year (knock on wood) we are relatively healthy going into game 5 and have pretty solid depth at most positions to keep winning. I like our chances at Baylor and beyond with this team. We also have 2 very well positioned byes this year in our schedule (between Baylor and Arizona and between UCF and Utah) to maintain some health.

We get the Baylor game on the road and I love our chances to beat Arizona at home with a rested team (6-0).

Gotta get at least 1 out of 3 against Ok State, UCF and Utah and we are sitting at 7-2.

At that point it is very reasonable to predict wins against Kansas and Houston at home, and a toss up at ASU in Tempe.

At worst, we are sitting at 9-3 in that scenario and I have to think we are in contention for the conference championship given the parity in the league. I know, I know...tap the brakes this early, but I like our chances for a special season this year with this Defense!!
