I assumed we'd suck again this season. Obviously my assumptions were not correct.

BUT... all the "experts" that analyze CFB and report on this stuff for a living were saying the same things as me. They don't have the ignorant fan excuse I have. So, how can they be so bad at their jobs? How is it they can get away without looking at the details and applying logic and reason? Why is it they can look at certain players and downplay their accomplishments and experience, and then a few games into the season "oh nevermind, this guy is actually pretty good, I'm gonna boost him in my evaluation"?

Oh, well that's easy, we can all see that NOW. Isn't your value supposed to be in having the expertise to do reasonably accurate projections? I don't expect 100% perfection, but I mean a team shouldn't be projected at like 60 spots off where they end up, right?

All I'm saying is, I can't figure out how some of these people keep a reputation or get paid for their cockamamie "analysis". And if it's just too hard to do a pre-season prediction because there are truly too many unknowns, and it's not that these idiots aren't paying attention to the details and doing crappy jobs, then STOP DOING THE PROJECTIONS!!!!!!

Can't have your cake and eat it too. You either suck at your job and need to quit or improve, or you should admit the job can't be done by anyone and stop. Pick one. It's just really frustrating because these so-called experts always do harm to BYU recruiting. The few years we actually have a decent team, we're clawing our way up from the junk heap, every time.
