Threw and Through 3rd String
You wrote that as if you'd already established that Sitake has gotten his
feelings hurt by CB, fans and reporters. But you didn't. When you concluded that you don't feel sorry for him because being criticized goes with the business of being a head football coach, you got ahead of yourself. If you were to talk to Kalani, you'd learn that he doesn't get his feelings hurt by fans, reporters or CBers. He's thick skinned and tough, and even more importantly, he's extremely grateful for his job, despite the media pressure it entails.

The problem with a question from a reporter about what's different between this season's 3-0 and last season's 3-0 is that if Sitake answers with complete honesty, he's going to have to dump on a friend of his (his O-line coach from a year ago), perhaps reveal that the administration didn't fund a couple positions they're now funding, aand maybe suggest that last year's
departed players weren't as good as this year's holdovers and additions. Sitake doesn't do that kind of thing. He treats everyone considerately, speaks ill of no one, and reporters should figure out that some of their questions are really just an invitation for the coach to criticize someone else.
