Reminds me of SixFootSeven and my experience walking through the WVU fan area.
Not quite as vile as you experienced but a lot of ribbing. We ended up having a lot of nice conversations with fans and posed with some "soaking related" signs. Just to make them feel somewhat uncomfortable that it didn't bother us in the least. 6'7 (a stake president mind you) quipped to one of them, "listen bub... I've got 5 kids. There was no soaking happening."
