I loved it (granted it was 20yrs ago)
but I don't care about fancy food or use public transport. I ate pub food, which was great. I rented a car, and while driving on the other side of the road takes adjustment, it was fine. That gets you out in the country which is where you want to be.

Dublin was just ok, but get out in the countryside and it was so green and picturesque.

Glendalough valley and the 1000yr old monastery there was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.
