I’m not an Ophthalmologist,
But it is commonly benign. I recommend getting an old picture to confirm it is new. If it is new, I recommend evaluation sometime in the next week or so. If there is recent ocular trauma, seek urgent eval. Hope that helps.

Visine and Lumify. She also just mentioned this this has happened several times
