Throwing off your back foot is ok when 1. The situation warrants it and 2. The ball gets where it needs to go.
You say yourself, Jake needed more air under the ball. Maybe if he didn’t throw off his back foot, he would have gotten more air under the ball?
That’s the issue here.

Every QB throws off their back foot at times. They are coached to do it.
