Seems like just about everyone predicted a 6 to 7-win season for the team, with a few fans who have already decided the program is a failure not expecting any improvement and picking 5 games or less, and a few perpetually blue-goggled fans grabbing at 8+ wins out of thin air. Preseason, it seems like most fans were on the same page - modest improvement expected. Get to a bowl game was the rallying cry.
Now we are watching the games, and I'm wondering why I see so much angst over a 3-0 team. Kind of seems like BYU is right on track? Paying more attention to the play on the field rather than simply the scoreboard, were we expecting something different?
What do you expect a 6 or 7-win team to look like? How about the quarterback of a 6 or 7-win team? Kind of looks to me like that's what we're seeing. A team that will be competitive in most games, will win a little over half their games, and will lose the rest.
