If you don’t mind taking a small hit on the exchange rate, I just do it there.
But if you have the time to hit a bank that carries Colones, and you want to save a few bucks, go ahead.
If you exchange there, you’ll get a slightly better rate at a bank outside the airport. Just have your passport ready.

Most places seem to take credit cards. If a pinch you can grab some at an ATM.

You don’t need any unless you go to remote places. Everywhere else takes cc or
