Bought a new disposal from Costco for $100. It used the same connection as my dead disposal so I just left that adapter in place.

Just unscrew the old disposal and disconnect the hose and pipe and screw on the new disposal. Break the barrier/plug in the drain hole and reconnect the hose and pipe. Plug it in and you’re done.

Don’t waste money paying someone for something this simple.
