Arnel kind of sounds like Steve, but it still feels like a tribute band.
I realize that Steve wasn’t even an original member, but if it wasn’t for his talents (voice, charisma, lyrics, musical sensibilities), then Journey would have remained a semi-obscure post-psychedelic jam band. Arnel is a good guy, but he pales in comparison to Steve Perry at his prime.
