Wish there was a definitive source on this... does the Pac-12 still have
contractual access to the playoffs and status as a "power conference" as long as they maintain 8 members? Further, do they get to ride out the current TV deal at least?
That's the only reason I can see that would make this make any kind of sense... other than being able to ditch the bottom end of the MWC.
