If Stanford and Cal were to come back then of course they'd take them, but the P12 has played hardball with all of the outgoing schools on exit fees and I have a hard time seeing either of those programs accepting an invitation to the MWC 2.0 unless the ACC completely dissolves and they have no other home. Frankly, even then I think they'd both first consider just going independent like ND.
If the MWC 2.0 cares about geographic footprint, they should add some combination of two of UNLV, UNM, and Utah State to pick up two new states/markets. If they're looking for the most competitive teams available then maybe AF is in there or they look to raid whatever the best of the remaining AAC programs would be available (I have no clue who that would be). There are not really any good options without the ACC dissolving and the best bet is probably to get more MWC teams to dissolve that conference and hopefully avoid any exit fees.
