The pod has already been posted on the board but wanted to summarize a couple things that stood out to me from the Field of 68 podcast with Rob Dauster / Jeff Goodman.

In general these guys were really positive on KY, the program and the long term trajectory of BYU hoops (right coach, support from NIL, etc)

"They are going to be good this year. But as I think about the long term [of the BYU program], there's is a ceiling there that's really exciting if you're a BYU fan." - Dauster

Overall:
- BYU gets the FIRST and ONLY A+ in terms of what they did this off-season (Jeff Goodman). In terms of what COULD have happened post losing Mark Pope and what they did in getting KY. Dauster gave them an A- because of losses of Jaxson, Noah, Khalifa and b/c Justin Young (KY's brother) is "never going to shut-up." Ha.

Expectations for BYU in terms of ranking / Big 12 conference / March Madness:
- They are a top 25-35ish team nationally
- 6th place (Dauster) / 5th-10th place in the Big 12 wouldn't shock to me (Goodman)
- In tourney they could be anywhere from a 5 to a 10 seed (Goodman) and win a game

KY:
- Tons of praise for KY - at the end Dauster said that KY is a better X's and O's coach than Pope (Dauster)

Egor:
- "The Reed Shepherd of this class" (ie, someone who is a little under the radar nationally):
- Best thing he brings to the table is passing
- Good shooter, not a great shooter
- Versatile, high IQ
- Egor could be a top 3 draft pick (Dauster)

Concerns / What are they missing (this must have been taped before Bosko news):
- Interior defense is a question. They need 6-10 / 6-11 shot blocker, "some questions defensively". BYU betting on Keba to be that guy.
- Can BYU gel this year? They had great chemistry last year and they have a lot of new bodies this year

Other:
- Lot of freshman on this team - what are they capable of?
- Kanon Cathings will be an X-factor - long, he can shoot, how productive will he be?
- Keba will be huge, I think he will start at the 5 slot (Goodman)
- Is Danny Ainge allowed to give to the collective? I need to figure out how much the Ainge family has donated to this collective (Goodman)
- They gave KY's brother Justin a hard time multiple times during the segment - "you don't want to be like your brother [Justin]" - NGL, kinda made me laugh
- Didn't like that they said that "the guys who they retained weren't guys who were going to leave in the first place" (referring to Hall, Saunders) - Dauster was wrong with that comment
- Dallin, Knell, Saunders will be the X-factors
- KSU, TX Tech, BYU, Cincy - they are the top 4 outside of the BIG dogs in the Big 12 who could make some noise this season
- There are 11 guys on this roster who get minutes this year
- They have plenty of shooting this year
- They aren't going to sneak up on people this year
