You are acting like there are a ton of people on this board saying that we are going to be a 10, 11, 12 win team this season. I think most everyone I’ve seen are fairly reasonable in their assessment.

Is SMU the 11 win team they were last year? Even if they play at the same level all year as last year, they are likely only a 6-7 win team max due to the step up in competition.

Is BYU as bad as last season? No. Certain areas look improved to very good. Certain areas look the same, which is concerning. Is that enough to put us in contention to win the BigXII? No. Does that mean we likely win 6 games and go to a Bowl game? I think that is likely.

I didn’t see much in the way of chest pounding on the board saying we are great. Like you said, we won and deserved to win. I don’t agree with SMU being a bad team. I think they are an OK team that we beat in their own stadium playing at times great (our D) and at times poorly (our O).
