empathy and encourage them to get help through our EAP (Employee Assistance Program.) I'll offer to have them stop by with anything I can help with, particularly if there is an impacting experience at work (manager pressures, coworker relationships etc.) A few days to a week later I will text or pass by that employee and ask how they doing, can I help with anything and whether they have called the EAP. If they have not I encourage them again to do so.
I steer clear of counseling as much as I can unless it is in regards to the work environment.
