Winning the press conference tells you very little about actual coaching ability
I see so many complaints about Kalani and other coaches based on how they answer media questions. I just don't understand this. There have been great coaches at all levels who are fantastic in front of the camera but have awful teams. And there have been famously belligerent coaches who have great success on the field. Obviously being a fan favorite as a coach can win you some additional time if the team is awful, but ultimately it's the product on the field that does the talking. There are plenty of reasons to be concerned about Kalani on that basis without trying to parse every word after a tough loss.
