BYU basketball game and Ainge came to the FT line with a chance to win the game. Taylor told himself that if Ainge made the FTs, he'd come to BYU.

Mike Smith told a similar story, and with humor, right after hearing Taylor's story. He described a similar scenario, only Greg Kite was at the FT line. He told himself that if Kite missed his FTs, he'd come to BYU. 🙂

It probably goes without saying that Taylor was entirely serious and that Smith was telling his as a joke to rib Taylor's decision making process.
