If your work offers a free amount of coverage, obviously, do that (you're probably already signed up for it if they do)
Some employers offer an additional amount of coverage for an extra cost they take out of your paycheck. Often the big selling point here is you don't have to get a physical to get it. If you're super unhealthy, or someone that, after taking a physical, would be on the "more expensive to ensure" side, then you should do that too. If not, it's probably cheaper to find it elsewhere. You probably only want term. treat it as a cost, not an "investment".
