Let's be honest, Wyoming was a pretty solid team that year but Sark did not look that great versus Wyoming. BYU went into half up 13-0 and then Sark had the fumble that led to a Wyoming TD on the first second half drive that changed the entire game. After re-watching that game, Sark really struggled on his reads. On the failed 4th down attempt, he had a guy wide open on the left side and completely missed him. Would have been a TD for sure.
If BYU dominates the second half instead of what actually happened, I think they have an outside shot at playing Florida State but at least get the Fiesta Bowl. Don't get me wrong it was still a good win but that was a bad second half and one could easily argue that Wyoming was dumb to take the safety after just having stopped BYU on 4th and goal. Losing Mili was obviously a big loss but BYU really blew it and missed an opportunity to look good on national TV. Yeah, this seems like a hard take but this game has always seemed like a missed opportunity even though they ended up winning.
