We moved into a 1400 sqft home in the Midwest about 10 months ago - we’ve been seeing a concerning uptick in spiders over the past month…mostly wolf spiders and some other (I assume harmless) ones…but have also come across a few brown recluse - I’ve read that if you see one of them, you probably have a lot more you aren’t seeing.

We’re considering pest control - for those of you in the area, is that generally effective? If so, do you need to be on a monthly or quarterly plan or does 1-2 treatments suffice for a while?

As an aside, we’re also working on sealing some small openings around door frames and baseboards that may be serving as entry points…
