This article includes mention that the green jello pin was the highest selling pin at the 2002 Olympics. And I think at one point Utah had the highest per capita usage of Jello in the US.
And I get it. When I was growing up in Mormon SoCal in the 50s and 60s, we had a lot of Jello. Even had dedicated molds that looked like fish or cornucopias. My dad's favorite was plain orange, but my mom like to put shredded carrots in the green jello, or a bottom layer of cream cheese, fruits, and nuts in her creations.
But here I am, having lived nearly 30 years now in Utah, and I can't remember the last time I had Jello. Maybe some paradise pudding (ground up jello and whipped cream, our family called it Paralyzed Pudding) about five or ten years ago. What about you and your family? Is Jello still a thing here?
