His take was that he doesn’t want the QB to be afraid to take some calculated risks and make plays. Sometimes no turnovers equals tentative and overly conservative play. Then he cited how Zack Wilson had a lot of turnovers in fall camp before his last year.
I guess these comments are obvious. But I thought it was insightful for the coach to frame it the way he did. I have been thinking that it was a foregone conclusion Retzlaff would be QB1, but it seems like a healthy Bohanon could really push him. Either way, I really feel the QB room is in good shape this year.
