I spent a couple of days there in May. Visited the northern coast, a place called Giants Causeway. Google it... very interesting and beautiful.

Belfast if a very interesting city. Very safe but images and vibes of the political unrest are everywhere. Political murals are everywhere. The "peace wall" is still there and they close the gates every evening at 9:00pm to keep the communities apart. If you go, take a "Black Cab Tour" to learn all about it. Also, the Titanic Museum is worth a visit.
