i hear so much about how much of a “grind” an SEC schedule is. i’m looking at OUs, one of the toughest in the SEC, and
i just don’t see it. it’s quite the opposite. it’s so well balanced that OU only plays 2 good teams in a row ONCE. in the big 12 that was not the case. OU would have solid teams almost every single week, which is why you drop one to baylor or ksu or osu every now and then.
this year it’s only 4 road games. 7 home games. 2 bye weeks and an FCS game all in the middle of conference play.
best team is probably texas, who we always play anyways.
only one game stands out as different from the big 12 which is at LSU.
OU typically had one of the toughest non con schedules in the country. not this year. it’s pathetic. temple, houston, tulane, and maine.
the sec makes some of the most comfortable schedules possible. yeah they have good teams but their philosophy makes the schedule as easy as every other P5 conference. and the fact that the majority of teams voted to keep an 8 game conference schedule instead of 9 makes me think they should quit talking like they have the toughest schedules until they actually start having the toughest schedules.
