I never figured out how to play defense on madden or the old NCAA either

Only hope was for a int, fumble, or onside kick but thankfully I could outscore most of my buddies

Pretty common trend with EA Sports games. Especially Madden.

I'm sure there will be sliders. I have my own issues with that, though.

Fair enough. I’ve found a balance on madden that gives pretty realistic play tho

I wouldn’t stress about it. EA didn’t want a 0-0 defensive battle, they wanted to be able to showcase several things:
