He expresses gratitude for the experiences that led him to Kentucky, and says the BYU experience made him better. Hardly a “goodbye” message, and no where is there a mention of cougar nation, byu fans, or byu leadership. If there is any kind of a “thank you, BYU” message in there, it was more like “thank you BYU for helping me finally land my dream job at Kentucky”.

He could have said a lot more, and a lot sooner than he did.
