and said that he believes Ropati will be the starting RB. I find this to be a strange take because I believe most fans expect LJ Martin to be the starter. I’m not sure if McCann is going out on a limb with this statement or if he knows something we don’t like Martin won’t be healthy to start the season and he’s laying the groundwork to protect knowledge of the injury.

I hope Martin is healthy to start the season because I believe he’s the most talented RB on the roster and he gives the BYU best chance produce for the running game. I like Ropati and Davis but I don’t think they have the upside of Martin, also both Ropati and Davis have injury history. Beyond Martin, Ropati and Davis depth is very unproven.
