Why do you think this is crazy. BYU has been operating in a far lesser
conference with far less money before this year.
The only thing crazy about this year's recruiting class is that it's happened in the first year after entering a real conference and still only getting half the money of other schools in the conference.

Exactly. Some folks expect to be in the top few teams of the Big12, but all those teams recruit like this every year.
