It's not just the safety aspect. Last time I checked Airbus was eating Boeings lunch. So it's also a business..
as well as consumer aspect.
If Musk could being costs down on plane manufacturing through better more streamlined processes then it could possibly be a win for the consumer and the US markets as well.
