Many probably don’t remember that we were staring at 7 P5s on the schedule, plus BSU, and had just graduated 7 players to the NFL draft and a bunch of others as UFAs. We had also lost Grimes and Mateos to Baylor, were starting Jaren Hall who had been injury prone, etc etc.
We went on a run to begin the season, struggled in October, and finished strong in November. Went 6-1 against P5s, partially because we were better than expected and partially because many of those P5s turned out to not be very good.
Bottom line is that you may be pleasantly surprised come October that the team gelled, we got decent play from our QB and our defense is playing well in year two under Hill. And maybe the schedule will turn out to not be the murderers row we think it will be now. Kansas, KSU, OSU, and Utah could all turn out to be just ok, especially if they deal with injuries at key positions.
