tendency to play him 25 mins/game and not cutting his minutes the 2nd half of the season when he was struggling. But I actually think he really fits well into the roster now.
Perimeter shooters are deadly when the guys around can create their shot, and drive the lane. Jax was ok at that last year, and Hall and Sanders showed some flashes. But for the most part, our team lacked the personnel to consistently attack the rim.
Now we add Catchings and Egor, who both appear to be very effective at getting to the cup. Hall and Sanders have another year under their belt adding that element to their games. Mag appears to be a serviceable slasher, and Baker (at least at UC Irvine) was very crafty driving the lane. Fouss has a strong inside game that draws defenders in and leaves shooters open, and Keita (while lacking some low post skills) is a solid rim runner that must be accounted for.
All this bodes well for Knell to exclusively focus on what he is best at: shooting 3's. He is obviously not going to start. But I think he is definitely worthy of ~15-17 mins a game off the bench, getting open looks from 3. We all know he is capable of going on an absolute heater every once in a while. Hopefully the roster we have around him helps him avoid some of the cold stretches he saw last season.
