I had wasps in a bird feeder once. I heard they are inactive at night, so
I got a bucket full of water and when it was dark, I gently dunked the bird feeder in the bucket and left them to drown. Worked well. That only works if the nest is mobile.

Are there any good home-made solutions for killing wasps? Anything you can put into a bowl of water, leave on the back

Those cans run out of spray really fast. But yeah, it’s liberating to watch wasps fall out of the air and die.

The internet stuff on that is sort of elaborate. I no longer waste money on plastic wasp traps, though.
