My solution only gets a few at a time. We sometimes get a few during the summer
when we go swimming in our pool. To get rid of them, I take an aluminum can and twist it pretty good. I leave a little soda at the bottom of the can with the tab still open. For some reason, they can get into the can to get the soda but can't make it back out.

Are there any good home-made solutions for killing wasps? Anything you can put into a bowl of water, leave on the back

Those cans run out of spray really fast. But yeah, it’s liberating to watch wasps fall out of the air and die.

The internet stuff on that is sort of elaborate. I no longer waste money on plastic wasp traps, though.
