I remember in his introductory press conference he talked about building BYU into an NBA pipeline. A lot of people laughed at that remark, a lot of people dismissed it as coach speak or as ignorance on KY's part about the college game and BYU's place in it. But it's becoming quickly apparent how seriously KY meant that statement. It's reflected in his recruiting, his staff, his scheme.

And that deliberate mentality is present in everything he does. It would have been much easier for him to have gone out his first week and hired several assistants to shoulder the load while he was coaching Phoenix through their playoff series. That could not have been a fun few weeks, constantly on planes, talking to recruits, conducting interviews, all while shouldering an NBA load. Not to mention all the scrutiny I'm sure was coming his way (just here on CB it was pretty intense). But KY preferred to take on all that rather than potentially hiring the wrong guys.

Seems like a very detail oriented individual, he has a plan to shoot the moon and I think he might just pull it off.
