The lead photo here (and the PR release) might give us info about summer moves.

With four new uniform designs they needed four models, and with this release being a "here's what the team will look like next year" message, it's not a huge stretch to think they made their model decisions based on who is most likely to actually be on the team next year. This is especially the case since they obviously did not include the best players on the team, as Sexton, Clarkson, and Collins were all definitively better players than the three young guys.

Lauri is the face of the team, and Keyonte is the clear rising star, so it makes sense that they be chosen. From there though, decisions had to be made.

Clarkson and Collins not being included makes sense since their salaries, contracts, career timelines, and relative player quality makes them likely to be among the first and easiest pieces to move in any deals made this summer.

Given that, I'd have probably guessed that the composition of the photo would've been 2 vets (Lauri and Sexton) and 2 young guys. And since Keyonte and Walker were both selected for All-Rookie teams and are the most familiar faces having played the most, I'd have guess they'd be the youth inclusions. But the absence of Sexton could be read as pretty telling.

Sexton was clearly the second best player on the team last year and his age and salary fit Lauri's timeline. His personality and fire make him a fan favorite, so with all of that I'd have thought he'd at least be PR poster-worthy. Now I understand that pretty much no one who isn't named Lauri Markkanen is safe here, but Sexton not being included tells me that he might be seen within the organization as more expendable than I had thought.

To that end, the inclusion off all three of our best young prospects is a bit surprising, especially given Kessler's seeming regression and discontent (I know there were roster construction issues, and no one on the team who knew how to pass the ball, especially after Olynyk left) along with Hendricks' relatively lackluster year. That all three were included is a clear message about the organization's intentions to fully rebuild, and that there are not currently many pieces that will carry through to the next era of Jazz basketball.

Another thing to consider here is that if Danny was serious about "big game hunting" this offseason, he's likely going to have to include one of those three younger guys in the deal along with veteran salary-matchers and draft picks. (e.g. The Clippers sending SGA, salary, and picks to OKC for Paul George; or Phoenix sending Mikal Bridges, salary, and picks to Brooklyn for KD.) If such a "big game" deal goes through, it could make for a bit of PR awkwardness, since one of the faces of this iteration of the rebrand may never actually wear these jerseys.

Maybe that PR awkwardness is better than sending the wrong message to the young guys (i.e. "Some of you are more valuable than others of you"), especially if/when none of them gets traded.

Or maybe it means there won't actually be any big game hunting.

Or maybe none of this means anything, and I'm reading way too much into it.

It's probably that.
