Is it worth calling Hyatt to see if they will bend their cancellation policy?

Had 30k point room booked for 13 days from now. But required 14 day cancellation to get a refund.

Should I call or just eat the points and move on?

Definitely call. If you have any sort of status with the hotel, my experience is

Rebook out a month or so and then cancel in a few days.
