tuner; 3rd generation. I had this unit for about 18 months before I upgraded it to a 4-tuner unit that supports ATSC 1.0 (1080p HD) and ATSC 3.0 (4K) broadcasts. There are very few stations in the area that support ATSC 3.0/4K but there are a lot of HD stations. My channel scan found over 90. I have updated the unit to the latest firmware available for it.

I gave this unit to my son-in-law but he was unable to use it well as he is in an area that does not have good line of sight to broadcast towers for over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts. If you live in Alpine and parts of Highland or even Cedar Hills you know what the "antenna shadow" is. This will not work in those areas tucked up close to the mountains which block the OTA signals from the towers in SL county on Farnsworth Peak.

Connect this tuner to a good antenna and your home network and receive free OTA HD TV channels that can then be streamed to the HD app on TVs, computers, tablets, phones, etc. I have it on all these devices in my home.

This unit has two tuners so you can watch two different shows on different devices at the same time, record two different shows at the same time or watch one show and record another.
