Four-game losing streak, they had exhibited the worst situational hitting I've ever seen in the pros...and I've watched these Mariners for decades. I will say that they've at least tried to be strategic in the late innings the past few games though and I like it.
Everyone's offensive numbers seem to mysteriously decline while in the Mariners uniform, then revert after they leave.
Fortunately, Mariners pitchers seem to benefit from the opposite effect. Woodward seems to make mediocre pitchers good and good pitchers great.
T-Mobile Park does account for a small bit, and I'm sure luck does too, but an MLB manager should be expected to bring out the best in his players over time (recognizing that slumps will happen) and Servais has had the second-most time of any MLB manager, believe it or not.
