I would love your input/feedback/ideas to make sure we get it right.
We plan to spend the first 4 and a half days in Paris doing all of the main activities (Louvre, Versailles, D'Orsay, Montmortre, and the other key sites in Paris). If anyone has any unique ideas in Paris or the surrounding area, please share.
We then plan on doing a day trip to the Loire valley from Paris. Will leave early by train and we'll rent a car and hit 3 or 4 chateaus and then take the train back to Paris that evening around 8 or 9.
Next, we are flying to Nice and will spend two and half days there. Our hotel is in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Will likely do a day trip to Monaco or Antibes via train and will spend most of one day at the beach.
Next, we fly to Geneve and then take a short train ride to Chamonix and stay there for a day and a half. Plan on taking the tram way up in the mountains and seeing all of the peaks.
We then fly from Geneve to Paris and from Paris back to the US.
My thinking is for 12 days, we'll get to see 4 different regions of France and still spend plenty of time in Paris. Really wanted to do Normandy for a day or two, but just don't see where I can fit it in.
