a familiar system matters. Chemistry matters. Guys that can check their egos matter.

We had all of that last season. This group has some of that and some lack of that and some TBD.

The better comparison is to compare the current roster to the roster we were supposed to have in 2024/5 if everyone with eligibility stayed. If Pope had not left, there is a very good chance that we would have kept everyone but SJ who was out of eligibility and then Chandler and Davis would have gotten us to 13 scholarship players. Jax will likely pull out of the draft and would likely have stayed at BYU.

Those 13 with experience together in Pope’s system was getting Top 10 mention in way too early polls.
