His mom didn’t really have much of an opportunity to progress financially (if that was needed). Between raising kids and working full time she wasn’t going to go back to college or learn a trade. Noah’s brother probably had little to no financial support and perhaps that has made it hard for him to attend college.

While neither should just become completely dependent on Noah it would make sense for him to use his basketball talents to bless his family members.
