…a guy that doesn’t have ties locally or religiously to BYU? I think as NIL and player free agency continues to evolve as it is now you’ll see a lot more guys moving year to year looking for their best opportunities. In a free market system it seems like a Wild West free for all at first, but then in the free market natural forces come to bear as individuals start to see trends and start to make different decisions and things begin to balance out and find some equilibrium.
Maybe down the road we see more schools or conferences do things like Columbia is doing where they unionize and we see conferences engage in collective bargaining agreements to try and avoid chaos and to better manage the resources (both talent and financial), and then we’ll see a little stability enter back in (like players signing multi-year deals, etc).
