No question that they are American in my mind. I'm still impressed/surprised at how elaborate it was. They had me talk to at least 3 different people. Had background noises that sounded like several people coming up to the guy I was on the phone with and asking him different questions about various cases or files, which he would respond to.

They seemed to know the layout of the sheriff's dept - which I'm assuming they could just pull off of google earth.

I shouldn't known from the moment they said it was the SLC sheriff it was a scam, since I don't live in SL County. But they sucked me in with all of the other stuff they had going on. It wasn't until much later that that fact occurred to me.
