He was kind of arrogant during the initial phases of it, and then pretty humble and regretful on the last round.
I think he confused a short-term dearth of people able to program in the relevant accounting language during the tech boom of the middle 2000s as a fast track to CEO type thing (he's not going to confuse anyone as a CEO type).
