Walk-on
Another question:
Imagine there is no ladder in the bore and someone drops a ball on one side of the bore. What happens when the ball reaches the center? Gravity should eventually pull it to the center and it will float in midair

Help me understand the physics of this, this just baffles my mind.

You'd be weightless in the center of the core. The mass of the earth would be pulling you in every direction equally.

Not only that, but the gravity would gradually get less and less as you approach

Well the fusion reaction at the core may be problematic, but we are ignoring

Gravity would pull you until you pass the core then it Would gradually switch

That would be such a weird transition. Something out of Interstellar

Just like a slow barrel roll in an airplane. Maybe right at the core you’re in a state of no gravity

Not a sudden change, though, a very slow shift as you are going. May not even be

Don’t think of up and down. Think of it as towards gravitational center and away from gravitational center.

Why use a ladder to go down? Just jump. You'll come to a slow stop. Eventually.

You would come to a stop in the center, and hang there for eternity.
